Inclusion Quality Mark
The Inclusion Quality Mark [IQM] is an award to show the inclusivity of schools. It is a rigorous procedure where evidence is collated over a period of time and submitted for approval by the IQM board. Once sufficient evidence is provided to show that a school celebrates, accepts and respects diversity including race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs and other ideologies, then a two-day in-depth face to face assessment takes place. After deliberations at board level, it is then decided if a school is suitable to be awarded the IQM. Here at St Damian’s, we have successfully been awarded this prestigious accolade twice since 2015 (the award lasts for 3 years) and we are currently in the process for reapplying again.
