Governors

A Welcome from our Chair of Governors, Mrs E Jones

Dear Parents/Carers,
As Chair of Governors, I am delighted to welcome all our parents, old and new, to our website. I trust you will find all the information you require but if not, please do not hesitate to get in touch either with the school.
This last academic year has been tough for our community at St Damian’s but, true to form, the staff worked tirelessly as a team during the pandemic to ensure the education of your children continued. I have no doubt that this will continue over the next few years. Our great staff, once again, have exceeded all expectations, not because of external ‘pressures’, but because of our commitment and desire to help your children ensure they receive the best possible education. As a Catholic school we are here to serve the ‘community’.
You can be sure your children are receiving not just an academic education but an all-round Catholic education. We are rightly extremely proud of our reputation for the outstanding pastoral support of our children. We are proudly, a fully inclusive school and every child really does matter. With our excellent and experienced staff and first-class facilities, I am confident in saying your child could not be at a better school. It is a school where we recognise each child’s individual needs, talents and contributions.
On a personal level, I was particularly proud to be named ‘National Governor of the Year’ at a ceremony in the House or Lords December 2021. This is more external recognition for our school and its community. Finally, as Chair of Governors, I am tremendously proud of St Damian’s and assure you we will do our very best to ensure your child enjoys their time with us, is kept safe, achieves their full potential and leaves us as responsible, respectful, educated, caring member of the community with values that are second to none.
I look forward to meeting you in the near future at one of our various events.
Yours sincerely,
Elizabeth Jones
Chair of Governors
