Pupils studying GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of food and its impact on lives.

  • Have the ability to carry out this life skill independently and be able to work with foods in order to prepare ingredients to make complete and edible dishes.

  • Have a love for cooking in order to demonstrate creativity.

  • Cook for themselves and others in the present and in the future, in a way that suits their income.

  • Be aware of the moral, social, cultural and economic influences associated with food.

  • Be aware of the careers available within the local food industry.
