Join us in leading the way to a greener future! Take part in hands-on activities that help protect our planet and make our community proud.
As part of our ongoing commitment to helping children understand and care for the environment, we have developed our Environmental and Sustainability Policy and Climate Action Plan. These support the Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy and guide the work we do in school to promote environmental awareness and action through our teaching and school initiatives
We know that young people are eager to:
-
create a greener, sustainable world
-
tackle both the causes and impact of climate change
We will empower all young people to be global citizens, through a:
-
better understanding of climate change
-
greater connection to nature

We are excited to be in partnership with Sustainability and Environmental Education (SEEd) who promote a new learning required by all of us, and particularly young people. They offer practical opportunities to participate in activities to increase climate resilience, reduce carbon impact and enhance biodiversity that will enable children and young people to translate knowledge into positive action to improve their local communities, their country and the planet.
Our SEEd Young Changemaker Programme is a unique, transformative year-long programme with the aim of developing a sense of agency for engaging with sustainability and climate change. It is a flagship programme which is mainly run in schools and is based on the decades of research and delivery of Education for Sustainable Development. It is unique in that pupils build measurable competences that are evaluated and acknowledged at the end of their project. It is based on action learning and students are linked in with local authorities, businesses and community projects that can offer workshops, site visits and mentoring for their project.
How the programme works https://se-ed.org.uk/our-work/seed-young-changemakers/
What your child will experience in the programme
• 9 themed modules with 2-5 steps
• Each module contains activities, action learning, soft skill development, theory and reflection
• Teams of students design, plan and undertake their own sustainability projects
• Opportunities for collaboration with local sustainability projects, businesses, local authorities and community organisations
• Co-learning course where the skills needed as the educator are facilitation rather than teaching
